Did some compares with the Dell, and I do not see anything related to the touchpad on the ACER but I do on the Dell.
WIN 10 shows ELAN I2C filter Driver,, VER 13.1.181.

Win 10 Home OEM install, the touchpad works. I have just acquired an acer aspire e3-111-P60S It has a synaptics clickpad/touchpad It works fine, although I had to add a couple entries into /etc/X11//nf for middle. The exclaimation mark still appears next to the I2C HID Device in Device Manager, also the touchpad option doesn't appear in Settings and also not appearing in Mouse Settings.My old (dying) Dell Vostro works as expected, but has the Synoptics touch pad. Have done about 6 re-installs to clean up any mess I make from trying old fixes. Tried many solutions found online, none work, and many seem to have parts of the puzzle already installed that I do not see (like seeing i2c or ELAN in Ubuntu). Computer reset, BIOS update, Uninstall I2C HID. I have done all of the following, and more, multiple times. I have gone through all of the troubleshooting I can find on here and elsewhere on the web. Installed the latest (as of two weeks ago) 20.04 as a dual boot. I2C HID device cannot start (code 10) I am having recurring issues with the Input Devices ( touch screen, keyboard, etc.) on my HP Spectre X360.
